About
With headphones on, INVIVO transforms us into wandering souls, embarking on a sensory odyssey. An experience on the frontiers of reality.
Since 2011, INVIVO has been developing immersive shows at the crossroads of digital arts, theater and performance. Our ambition? To offer spectators new forms of storytelling by making them active participants. After adapting Maurice Maeterlinck's Les Aveugles, the collective continues to explore the work of the playwright, a leading figure in Belgian Symbolism, with three other texts revolving around our individual and collective relationship with death: Intérieur (1894), L'Intruse (1890) and Les sept Princesses (1891). Equipped with headphones, we are projected from the hall of La Passerelle into the garden of an ordinary house. Like ghosts, we watch a family go about their evening activities through the lighted windows. This is the start of a fantastic journey that will abolish the contingencies of the real world and take us to the heart of an imaginary realm. Relying on new sound and image technologies, INVIVO gives us access, as a medium would, to the invisible and the unspeakable. It's an intense experience, inviting us to push back the boundaries of our perceptions and see a world on the brink of collapse.
