About
Where the streets of the old town converge!
In the Middle Ages, it was called Place Saint Etienne, after a church built in his honor. During the French Revolution, the Tree of Liberty was planted here, and the square was renamed Place de l'Egalité. Since the late 19th century, it has been named after the sculptor Jean Marcellin, born in Gap in 1821.
